Two Day Old Kitten

When I was 5 years old a pregnant cat wandered into our yard and had her kittens. We gave her a box in the garage. There were four babies. Most of them were taken by neighbors when they got old enough. We were going to keep the little tortoise shell one, but she got hit by a car. The lady driving the car told my father how sorry she was.

I didn't remember the kittens being so little but I suppose they must have been. Their eyes opened after around ten days.

We were going to take the mother cat with us when we moved, but she wandered off and we never saw her again.
