A to Z Blogging Challenge 2015: H is for Horse

It's best to turn off the sound and just watch the horses with this video.

Horses are found in a myriad of sizes and colors. Domesticated horses are utilized for working purposes in agricultural settings, or for sport and show. Horses are also used in warfare.

A domestic horse has an average lifespan of about 30 years. The oldest horse on record was Old Billy (b. 1760 d. 27 November 1822.) His skull is on display in the Manchester Museum.

The above graphic shows the evolution of the horse. I've always found it fascinating to realize that horses evolved from creatures that were about the size of a small dog.
