Click the title link to read the article. Mutilated stingrays have been washing up on the beach in Queensland. It appears to some kind of "retribution" for Steve Irwin's death.
This is not what Steve would have wanted! He understood the risks of the work he did. He understood both the beauty and the danger of certain animals. The stingray that brought about his final moments on Earth did not do so out of malice. Unlike humans, animals do not usually kill maliciously. Certainly the stingrays which have been mutilated as revenge had no knowledge of the event which caused them to be senselessly attacked.
Steve would be appalled by this sort of senseless violence. Doing such a thing in his name is in no way honoring his memory.
